1930 Cadillac V-16 Sedan

Cadillac automobiles reached their zenith of magnificence during the early 1930s with the production of cars powered by V-16 engines. One of the most expensive automobiles available at the time in the Texas Panhandle, this 1930 Cadillac V-16 Sedan represented the ultimate in conspicuous consumption. These Cadillacs ranged in price from $5,350 to $8,750, the equivalent of about $58,000 to $96,000 today. V-16 cars cruised at 70 miles per hour with a top speed of 90 miles per hour, and used about a gallon of gas every eight miles and a quart of oil every 150 miles.
