Description
Chevrolet stopped producing cars for civilian use in February 1942 in order to fill World War II contracts and, like other motor vehicle manufacturers, did not manufacture automobiles for sale to the to the public again until 1946. As a result, automobile design did not change much from 1942 until several years after World War II. Well-known Panhandle artist Harold D. Bugbee (1900-1963), who served as the first curator of art at Panhandle- Plains Historical Museum from 1951 until 1963, bought this Chevrolet Club Coupe new in 1948.
